Brainspotting

Sometimes the things that hurt the most are the hardest to put into words. Brainspotting is a body-based therapy that helps you process what your body has been holding onto and gives you a way to work through old fear, shame, and conditioning without having to retell every detail. The central idea is simple: where you look can affect how you feel. If you're unsure what that means, we can try a simple example in your free consultation to see whether brainspotting might be a good fit for you.

My goal is to support your mental, emotional, physical, and relational well-being as you reconnect with your full, authentic self. Brainspotting often fits well for people healing from religious trauma, spiritual abuse, or a faith transition, where explaining can feel exhausting or even unsafe. It can also be a comforting support if you're living with chronic illness or an autoimmune condition and your body feels like it's carrying a lot. Many people come to brainspotting for anxiety, burnout, panic, or feeling overwhelmed and stuck.

As a Certified Brainspotting therapist, I go at whatever pace feels right for you, with plenty of room to pause, rest, and breathe. Brainspotting works well in online therapy, so you can do this work from the comfort of your own home in Nevada or North Carolina. Reach out to schedule your free consultation.

Therapy for Religious Trauma

Leaving a high-demand religion can feel like losing everything at once: your beliefs, your community, your routines, your family's approval, and often your world view. If you've left, are thinking about leaving, or are stuck somewhere in the middle, I offer religious trauma therapy in Las Vegas to help you sort through it at your own pace.

Many of my clients come from evangelical, Mormon (LDS), Jehovah's Witness, Pentecostal, Catholic, or other high-control or fundamentalist backgrounds. The details differ, but there are common themes. Do any of these sound or feel familiar?

  • You feel guilty for resting, saying no, enjoying your body, or making your own decisions.

  • Prioritizing yourself feels selfish or prideful.

  • You still hear the words of leaders or parents in your mind, even when you no longer agree with them.

  • You don't know who you are, what you value, or what to do with holidays, friendships, or family gatherings.

  • You miss your community, and you're angry about how you were treated in it. Both can be true.

  • You carry fear, whether of hell, of being wrong, or of being shunned, that doesn't fit the life you're building now.

You likely feel alone or isolated, but many people, including me, have walked this path. None of this means something is wrong with you. Religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and the loss that comes with a faith transition or deconstruction are real experiences and carry their own type of grief and loss.

Because these experiences live in the body as well as the mind, I offer holistic, mind-body therapy that combines brainspotting therapy with supportive talk therapy. I don't have an agenda about what you should believe. Some clients leave (or have left) their faith entirely, some reshape it, and some are still deciding. Whatever you choose, you won't have to defend it or explain it to me.

If you're also living with chronic illness or an autoimmune condition, we can make room for that too. Many of my clients are navigating both. We usually meet weekly, online, and we'll move at whatever pace your system can handle, with room to pause and rest.

Not sure whether what you went through counts as religious trauma? Many of my clients start exactly there. You don't need the right words or a plan. I offer a free consultation so you can see whether we're a good fit, and I see clients online throughout Nevada and North Carolina. Reach out to schedule yours.

Therapy for Chronic and Autoimmune Illness

Living with chronic illness can feel like losing the life you planned and the body you trusted, while everyone around you expects you to keep up as if nothing has changed. If you’ve been recently diagnosed, have been sick for years, or are still searching for answers, I offer therapy to those dealing with chronic illness and/or autoimmune disorders in Las Vegas. I am here to help you live with more support and less pressure.

Many of my clients live with autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, fatigue-related illnesses, or women’s health conditions. The diagnoses differ, but I have observed some common themes. Do any of these sound or feel familiar?

  • You feel guilty for resting, canceling plans, or needing help, even when your body leaves you no choice.

  • You grieve the person you used to be, or the one you thought you’d be by now.

  • You’ve been dismissed, doubted, or told it’s “just stress,” and part of you has started to wonder if they’re right.

  • You’re surrounded by people who comment they are “tired all the time too”, bringing up feelings of isolation and being dismissed and misunderstood.

  • You’re exhausted by explaining yourself to doctors, family, friends, or employers.

  • You swing between pushing through and crashing, and neither feels sustainable.

  • You feel anxious or on edge around your body, waiting for the next flare, symptom, or test result.

  • Your illness is invisible, so you often feel alone in it.

You may feel isolated, but you are not the only one. None of this means you’re weak, dramatic, or failing at being well. Chronic illness brings loss, uncertainty, and grief, and you deserve real support.

Because illness lives in the body as well as the mind, I offer holistic, mind-body therapy that combines brainspotting with supportive talk therapy. Brainspotting can help you process the stress, fear, and overwhelm your body has been holding, at a pace that respects your capacity. It will not “cure” your illness, but it can help with how you experience it. How you cope or what “healing” should look like is yours to decide. Some clients are working toward acceptance, some toward better boundaries, and some just need a place to say the hard things out loud. Therapy doesn’t replace your medical care. It’s a place to support you through everything that comes with it.

If you’re also working through religious trauma or a faith transition, we can make room for that too. Many of my clients are navigating both. We usually meet weekly, online, and we’ll move at whatever pace your body can handle, with room to reschedule, shorten, or rest on hard days.

Not sure therapy is the right fit, or whether what you’re carrying “counts”? Many of my clients start exactly there. You don’t need the right words or a plan. I offer a free consultation so you can see whether we’re a good fit, and I see clients online throughout Nevada and North Carolina. Reach out to schedule yours

My personal philosophy

I believe healing happens in relationship, at your pace, and in a space where you don't have to explain or defend yourself. Many of the people I work with have spent years being told what to believe, how to feel, or what their bodies "should" be able to do. In therapy with me, you don't have to prove that your experience is real. I start from the belief that it is.

Whether you're untangling religious trauma, navigating a faith transition, or living with chronic illness or an autoimmune condition, I see your experiences as valid and your body as part of the story. Religious trauma and chronic illness can both leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your community, and your sense of safety. They often bring grief, shame, and exhaustion that talk alone doesn't always reach. I don't have an agenda for what you should believe or where you should land. My role is to support you in deciding what stays, what goes, and what's still unfolding.

As a Certified Brainspotting practitioner, I use brainspotting therapy alongside collaborative talk therapy so we can work with both your mind and your nervous system. Brainspotting helps us reach what's held in the body and below conscious thought, which can be especially useful when trauma, burnout, or long-term illness has left you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or numb. We go at a pace your system can handle, with plenty of room to pause, rest, and adjust.

Together, we'll work toward moving from shame, perfectionism, and burnout toward self-compassion, self-trust, and a life that fits who you are now. That might mean grieving what you've lost, reclaiming your voice, setting boundaries without guilt, or learning to rest and pace yourself. It's about rebuilding a life that feels like your own.

Sessions are online, so you can do this work from wherever feels most comfortable and spend your energy in session instead of on travel to session. I offer online therapy to adults in Nevada and North Carolina, and I especially understand how important flexibility and accessibility are when you're managing symptoms, fatigue, or an unpredictable body.
